THE ABSOLUTE GUIDE FOR A
POST-SUMMER SKIN REGENERATION

Although summer is behind us, the effects of the heat and the sun may be here to stay. According to dermatologists, pigmentation and acne are the most prominent issues women face at the end of the summer. But now that autumn has sprung, it’s the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate your skin and give it the boost it needs for the new season. Follow our tips and say hello to fall with gorgeous, glowing, spot-free skin.

HYDRATION

After running dry in the sun all summer, it is vital to put that moisture back in. Super-charge your skin’s moisture levels and undo dehydrating damage caused by sunshine, salt, and swimming.
Autumn is a great time for your skin to recover and hydrate. From masks and serums to oils and balms, whatever your preference, there’s a moisture-boosting skin treatment to suit.
Start on your road to recovery with a gentle cleansing routine. To help minimize the signs of sun-damaged skin, we suggest trying one infused with vitamin C, which not only offers you great antioxidant protection but also improves skin firmness. A rich moisturizer used daily will restore the skin and protect it from the upcoming cold weather.
Before applying your day or night cream, use a hydrating serum, and apply a hydrating mask 2-3 times a week to keep your skin supple, healthy-looking, with less visible fine lines and wrinkles.

PRO TIP: Ideal for dehydrated or damaged skin, serums deliver a more potent dose of hydration and anti-ageing benefits because they are lighter and contain a higher concentration of ingredients. Combine your serum with a moisturizing oil. Apply it after your serum is completely absorbed or mix one or two drops into your serum (or moisturizer) to strengthen the skin and boost hydration.

EXFOLIATION

Regular exfoliation is one of the best ways to keep your skin clear, healthy, and younger-looking. This is why exfoliating regularly is important, as the process removes those cells that are clinging on, to reveal the fresher, younger skin cells below.

Using mechanical exfoliation, dead skin cells are physically rubbed off with an abrasive. Chemical exfoliation, on the other hand, uses enzymes, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids to loosen the glue-like substance that holds the cells together, allowing them to slough away. You can exfoliate at home, spa or your dermatologist’s office to help unclog pores, stop breakouts, smooth wrinkles, and even make dry, dull skin a thing of the past.

PRO TIP: Don’t forget to exfoliate your body once a week. Scrub the exfoliant of your choice over your skin in small, circular motions. Concentrate longer on areas such as your knees and elbows which are prone to dry skin.
