DECODING BEAUTY

Dr. Panagiota Riga, on everything you’ve ever wanted to ask a top anti-aging dermatologist.
-How do you define beauty?

Beauty is not just one thing! It is definitely an appealing appearance, but for me, it is also grace, elegance, and style. Moreover, self-confidence and allure highlight a person’s inner glow.

-How would you describe your daily and in-flight skincare routine?

I cleanse my skin twice daily. I do this very thoroughly especially at night to completely remove makeup and dirt. I use an antioxidant serum and sunscreen every morning. At night, I use a cream containing AHA or retinoic acid. During the year, I may also use products with vitamin C (mask or serum), hyaluronic acid and peptides.

-In which ways can face masks create miracles? Any secret beauty weapons you would like to share?

Facemasks may contain useful substances for your skin. Clay masks are a great routine for oily skins. Masks with hyaluronic acids and peptides hydrate and nourish the skin at any age. My secret beauty weapon is a peel-off mask with vitamin C. It makes my skin look fresh and glowing every time I use it.

“I first perform on myself every new procedure I want to include in my practice! I want to feel confident about its safety and results”

-Which is the weirdest thing you have done for the sake of beauty (and would never try again)?

I first perform on myself every new procedure I want to include in my practice! I want to feel confident about its safety and results. I also want to completely understand and feel every step of the treatment. Then I’m ready to propose it to my patients. Sometimes I use extreme settings on my skin to check for side effects and that is not so wise

– Is there a magic formula for great skin?

My magic formula is called 4S 3E. Use Sunscreen, do not Smoke, handle Stress, try to Sleep 8 hours a day, Eat healthily, Exercise, Enjoy life.

-What’s your favorite treatment and why?

My favorite treatment is the Liquid Facelift. In this process, I use selected fillers to restore the loss of volume and treat face sagging that comes with aging. A lifting effect and a natural youthful appearance are immediately obvious.
This is the best treatment for women in their forties and early fifties.
