-In your opinion, what’s the reason your “story” spread so quickly?
Timing was everything when we went out on the very demanding international fashion market. Through our creations, we presented our country’s tradition with integrity and authenticity. We managed to put back in the map lots of different traditional techniques by re-discovering old and forgotten artisans (from embroiderers to looms) and blended them all in order to create a completely contemporary outcome. People liked our outfits but most of all liked the story behind
them.
-Some of your designs are not considered commercial. Do you ever worry? What is your best-seller so far?
We never follow trends. We have our own designs inspired by tradition. We use our own unique fabrics and fortunately, buyers around the globe love them as well. Our best-seller design is the «Hara» shirt made entirely out of our own fabrics. It is a classic shirt that we present in our winter and summer collections.
-Which are the symbols or the codes that characterize your work today?
Doric order, geometry, contradiction and sentiment.
-When was the happiest time of your life? The best moment of your career so far?
On a personal level there is nothing that gives me more joy than my daughter. In the professional field, our previous jobs -although completely different than the ones we do today- gave us joy and some good moments. But that cannot compete in any way, with the recognition that Zeus+Dione gets from the most powerful people in international fashion.
