THE GRASS ROSE REINTERPRENTED
Created by Francois Demachy, the new Miss Dior Rose n’Roses is a statement for the most delicate flower, by far the most loved by the great couturier. The heart of Miss Dior Rose N’Roses swirls with the spicy burst of Grasse Rose. Grown in the fields of southern France by the exclusive partners of the house of Dior, it is harvested each year in May by hand and in keeping with tradition, to preserve all the properties of this precious, delicate flower.
But it is not “just” another perfume. Miss Dior Rose N’Roses is an ode to the story of Monsieur Dior, to his passions and his memories, to the intimate and extraordinary relationship that tied him to his beloved sister Catherine, the inspiration behind the first Miss Dior. A hyper-realistic and faithful portrait, an image that frames millions of petals in the mirror, scattering them around infinity.
“With Miss Dior Rose N’Roses, I did not want to create a rose, but rather the incarnation of a floral profusion. I wanted to renew with that powerful feeling of ‘nature’, like when I was a child in Grasse and first saw the fields of flowers blooming in May”, explains François Demachy maître parfumeur of the Maison, born in Grasse, who knows this land “par coeur”.
“I wanted to recreate the impression of entering a field of roses in the morning, an authentic floral profusion. From the first top notes, you are carried away among millions of colourful and delicate petals, without end. I have used two different qualities; the centifolia rose of Grasse and the rose of Damascus. The feeling of freshness is amplified by bergamot accords and mandarin, sublimated by woody and musk notes and geranium essence “.
Natalie Portman is the face of Miss Dior since 2010 and once again the protagonist of the new chapter, Rose N’Roses. For this advertising campaign, she wears a dress made of a thousand flowers and petals whose realization it’s revealed in the video below:
